Christchurch Model Railway Club 2014 Exhibition

Allotments on the Wimborne, Dorset (OO) layout.

On Sunday, October 19th we paid a visit to the Christchurch Model Railway Club  2014 Model Railway Exhibition. This shot is of the allotments on the Wimborne, Dorset (OO) layout. If you could see the image full size you would probably be able to see the snail, but I'm not going to give away the location!

Grey skies, I suppose at least form a neutral background to these pictures from the Bournemouth Air Festival in 2014. Last chance to see the Vulcan bomber, which retired the following year and flew for the last time in October 2015.

Plaza de la Iglesia, Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife

The Plaza de la Iglesia (Church Square) in Puerto de la Cruz is a busy thoroughfare in the centre of town and yet, manages to be a tranquil and beautiful spot.

The Making of the Corpus Christi Carpet

The Making of the Corpus Christi Carpet in La Orotava, Tenerife

In La Orotava, Tenerife, under an awning in the square in front of the town hall, alfombristas (carpet makers) work on a carpet made of sands from Mount Teide for the "octava" (eighth day) of Corpus Christi - i.e. the following Thursday after the date of the religious feast - for Día de las Alfombras (Carpet Day).
