West Somerset Railway

Ticket Office of the West Somerset Railway at Bishops Lydeard

Interior of this 'heritage train'. Or 'train' as they were called when I was young!

Pity about the dull weather.

I have some of those, only a bit smaller.

GWR station bench and lamp.

Possibly the world's most boring video as we pull out of a station.

The engine that pulled my train 53808 - my first number!

Original Number 88 now 53808 is one of two surviving members of an original class of eleven designed for working heavy freight trains over the Mendip Hills although they were also used on holidays trains between Bath and Bournemouth.

In August 2020 it was announced that the locomotive was being moved to the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line) for a two year period. (As seen on Train Truckers)
