  • "Even Tory grandee Lord Newton has called the cumulative impact of the government’s legal aid and welfare reforms a “pincer movement” on disabled people.

Miller’s comment on Radio Five exposed that the left hand of government doesn’t know what the right is doing. Worse, it highlighted that despite being the minister for disabled people, she is blissfully unaware of the impact of government policy on disabled people."

  • "The Labor Ministry said categories added to the expanded list — that also includes pyromaniacs, compulsive gamblers, fetishists and sadomasochists — were included for purposes of medical assessment and used as a gauge for allocating financial assistance."

Seems the UK is not the only place where disability benefits are being shaken up. Perhaps we should all head for Greece - I'm sure most of us have one fetish or another that qualifies! And, seeing that kleptomaniacs are also included, there will even be a place for Antony Worrall Thompson.

  • "If only pain and fatigue were the only symptoms we had to deal with! Anyone with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome knows that's not the case, though. We can generally count symptoms by the dozen.

One set of symptoms involves environmental sensitivities, which can mean:

    Noise & light sensitivity
    Temperature sensitivity
    Fragrance/chemical sensitivity
    Sensory overload"
